Patty Clapper read a proclamation honoring Thomas (Tom) Dunlap for 50 years of service in environmental public health for Pitkin County and related regional/national roles; Tom thanked the board, said he is not retiring, and recognized his wife Lynn's 25 years with the county.
Pitkin County Board of County Commissioners met Jan. 14, 2026. Business included proclamations and employee awards, a temporary vacancy application process after Chair Kelly announced her Feb. 16 resignation, multiple routine resolutions and grants (airport runway and navigational-aid agreements, solid-waste bond first reading), intergovernmental agreements for training and public health, and adoption of an ordinance banning camping/overnight occupancy in public rights-of-way in unincorporated Pitkin County.
