The Carmel-by-the-Sea City Council met Jan. 13, 2026. The meeting included a Carmel High School report, a Carmel Art Association appeal for city help after building damage, adoption/first-reading actions on updated state building codes, approval of a tentative police labor agreement, a lengthy staff presentation and council debate on a proposed roofing materials policy, and a progress update on the Design Traditions 1.5 project.
