Chair Karen Meeker opened the Communication & Policy Committee meeting, listed committee members (Jim Richards, Liz Boucher, Barb Higgins) and district staff present (Acting Superintendent Tim Herbert, Karen Fisher Anderson), and previewed the agenda: two new policies for first review (Policy 542.1 on unauthorized communication devices and Policy 262 New Hampshire Parental Bill of Rights) and a brief discussion of other policies on the back burner.
The Concord School District Communication & Policy Committee met to review two required policies — a new unauthorized communication devices policy (Policy 542.1) and a Parental Bill of Rights — and to discuss other upcoming policy work including crowdfunding and whistleblower protections. The committee narrowed the device policy draft (removing an extracurricular/co-curricular ban and moving discipline details to handbooks) and tabled the Parental Bill of Rights for further statutory review.
