Astoria City Council held a work session where local service providers warned of steep state and federal funding cuts that threaten shelter, rental-assistance and food programs and discussed the limits of enforcement of the city’s camping regulations without adequate shelter alternatives. Council members asked providers about capacity, coordination and immediate needs heading into winter.
