The Eugene City Council held a hybrid meeting with five public hearings on Jan. 20, 2026, covering withdrawals from special districts, an update to local traffic law citations, election-code alignment with state law, a contested University of Oregon (UO) East Campus land‑use and rezoning package, and a proposed ordinance restricting exchanges of goods/money in the vehicular right of way. Council extended the East Campus record and heard extensive public testimony for and against the UO proposals.
