Meeting called to order; commissioners recognized Commissioner Brown and welcomed Cresta. An invocation was given by an unidentified speaker and Larry Clayson led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Kane County Planning and Zoning Commission met June 11, 2025, and took recommendations to the county commission on several land-use matters: a zone change for Vermillion Cliffs Estate Lot 6-51, ordinance updates to planned unit development and residential zoning (including a contested proposal to limit 1-acre lots), a water-conservation element to the general plan, and subdivision-rule clarifications. The commission recommended approval of the Melke zone change and several ordinance cleanups, and recommended denial of the ordinance that would have largely eliminated new R-1 lots in favor of a 2-acre minimum.
