The Prince William–Manassas Regional Jail Board met July 17, 2024. Members accepted Superintendent Peter J. Melitus’s resignation effective Oct. 1, extended Major George Herlock as acting superintendent while authorizing a nationwide search, and reviewed operational and fiscal reports including population, staffing vacancies, and ongoing capital work. Several personnel items were handled in closed session.
