Fairfax City Council on May 6, 2025 adopted the FY 2026 budget and set corresponding tax and fee rates after a day of presentations, public comment and hours-long debate over timing, pay-study implementation and major capital items. Council approved a 2.5¢ real-estate rate increase (real-estate rate set at $1.055 per $100), a 6% wastewater user rate increase and a 6% stormwater fee increase.
