Lawton City Council held its regular meeting on Jan. 27, 2026. Major items included approval of a grant to buy facial-recognition software for the police, zoning changes for cigar bars and hookah lounges, a public hearing and postponement on a data-center zoning ordinance, approval of a water redundancy project for the West Industrial Park, direction to review assembly/event permit rules, adoption of a revised homeless action plan, and an employment-extension for the interim city attorney.
