Santa Clara City Council met in a hybrid special session on Jan. 27, 2026. Public commenters overwhelmingly urged the council to agendize policy protections limiting local cooperation with ICE ahead of the Super Bowl; council voted to agendize the item for a Feb. 3 special meeting. The council also reviewed a Stadium Authority financial report and a Silicon Valley Power update, continued two Mills Act termination hearings to March 10 for additional outreach, and approved a 3% adjustment to the city manager's salary (retroactive).
