Chair (referred to as Doctor/Chair Bowman) called the meeting to order, asked for roll call (members Janelle Estoya, Rebecca Bettson, Heather Benavides, Courtney Jackson, Maury Kia Bowman were called) and Courtney Jackson moved to adopt the 01/29/2026 finance committee agenda with Rebecca Bettson seconding; the motion carried on roll call vote with all recorded 'Yes' votes. Motion and vote were formally recorded and the meeting proceeded.
The Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) Board of Education Finance Committee reviewed and recommended approval of December 2025 inter- and intra-function budget transfers for grant and noncategorical funds, considered gifts and equipment disposals, and recommended placing multiple procurement items (including two professional design services exceeding $500,000) on the Feb. 4 consent agenda. Staff explained reallocations, staffing/FTE effects at several schools, and answered questions about procurement transparency.
