The Virginia House Courts Subcommittee on Criminal Law met to hear multiple bills addressing court costs, fees, deferred dispositions, marijuana-related resentencing, earned sentence credits and probation reforms. Members heard testimony from advocates, public defenders, Commonwealth’s attorneys and formerly incarcerated people and advanced several bills to the next committee or took them under advisement.
