The California Board of Registered Nursing's Intervention Evaluation Committee (IEC 3) met on Jan. 14, 2026, in Irvine to review program operations and receive an education update on how the IEC may treat "mental-health-only" participants differently from uniform standards. The committee approved prior meeting minutes, heard staff guidance from Executive Officer Loretta Melby on flexibility for mental-health-only nurses (including optional drug testing and no mandatory 30-day waiting period), recessed to a closed session on participant matters, reconvened, confirmed attendance, and adjourned.
