Mayor Sanchez called the meeting to order, conducted roll call and invited Father Charles Wright (SEG 018) to give the invocation. Council attendance was confirmed (Mayor Sanchez; Deputy Mayor Joyce; Council members Figueroa, Robinson, Weiss).
Oceanside City Council met Jan. 28, 2026. The council approved a $1.1 million contract for a citywide safety and active-transportation plan, introduced an amended oversized-vehicle permit ordinance (removing a neighbor-petition requirement), adopted enforcement changes for e-bikes, directed staff on illegal-fireworks abatement, and—after an extended public hearing—declined to certify the environmental impact report for the 83-unit Guajome (Wohome) Lake Homes project and directed staff to prepare written findings.
