New Canaan Board of Selectmen reviewed the FY26-27 proposed operating and capital budgets, flagged concern over a 6.2% tax increase, agreed to several capital trims (including pausing a large school audio/announcer purchase), heard staffing and capital timing questions, accepted a $1,092,000 federal UV grant for wastewater treatment, and voted unanimously to forward the proposed $186.9 million budget to the Board of Finance.
