Supervisor Latifa Fasil opened the session at 1:00 p.m. and invited round-robin introductions. Supervisor Lisa Heddens, Director of Internal Operations & HR Alyssa Wignell, Auditor Lucy Martin, Assistant Auditor Lisa Markley, Story County Recorder Stacy Harridge, Deputy Recorder Jim Cheek, and Supervisor Linda Merkin (on Zoom) were introduced.
Story County Recorder Stacy Harridge presented a compact, near-balanced budget at a Jan. 30, 2026 work session, noting stable revenues with a small uptick in real estate and a drop in snowmobile-registration fees after a law change. Harridge proposed shifting a $7,000 records-management expenditure out of next fiscal year, raised the telephone/communications line based on staff estimates, and discussed a placeholder 5% cost-of-living allowance while negotiations continue.
