Palo Alto City Council held its Feb. 2, 2026 meeting, opening with a proclamation honoring longtime public works employee Chris Fujimoto, then convening a closed session on existing litigation. The council spent the bulk of the evening on a prescreening for a proposed 158‑unit residential project at 44 & 88 Encina Avenue, moved and approved several boards/commissions work plans with amendments, and adjourned in memory of Phil Bobo.
