Oliver County Planning and Zoning Board met Jan. 29, 2026. The board approved a Minnesota Power substation building permit and a conditional-use permit for the North Plains Connector transmission line, held extensive public comment on proposed wind-energy ordinance amendments (including a proposed countywide cap and setbacks), and discussed bylaw and permit-fee revisions. The wind-ordinance discussion drew the bulk of public testimony and no final vote; the board signaled further public hearings and possible referral to the county commission.
