Joint Standing Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs met for work sessions and public hearings covering a study of classroom technology (LD 2052), funding and statutory changes for the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (LD 2008), a Boothbay charter amendment (LD 2111), a proposed preschool nutrition grant program (LD 2064), rule updates on restraint and seclusion (LD 2172), and updates to school infectious-disease duties (LD 2046). Several bills were amended and advanced to caucus votes; key votes struck a tuition mandate for MSSM and approved study/reporting language on classroom technology.
