Beaufort County Council announced the appointment of 15 residents to a new transportation advisory committee, named leadership at the committee's first meeting and said the group will prioritize projects and work with an engineering firm to develop estimates for projects it may recommend for a fall referendum. The committee will hold its next meeting Feb. 18, 1–3 p.m.; meetings will be public and broadcast on BCTV.
