The Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission met in Sacramento on Jan. 22, 2026, and approved the Innovation Partnership Fund RFP, a $20 million peer respite pilot, multiple Behavioral Health Student Services Act administrative allocations for school-based suicide prevention and evaluation, and agreed to sponsor legislation to sustain school suicide-prevention training and data collection. The IPF discussion drew extended debate over a proposed set-aside for sustainable financing.
