Chair called the meeting to order and invited Father Kramer to lead a prayer invoking concerns about county decisions and vulnerable groups; the invocation referenced removal of the county "where you belong" motto and the needs of marginalized communities.
Ottawa County Board of Commissioners met on Feb. 13, 2024. The board debated a $100,000 RFP for an outside strategic planning vendor, considered multiple agenda amendments and public-health funding requests (several failed), approved a hiring/transfer freeze and several budget and parks contracts, heard annual reports from Community Mental Health and Public Health, and received extensive public comment about the consent-agenda process and county priorities.
