The Torrington City Council held a public hearing and regular meeting on Feb. 2, 2026. The council voted to reauthorize the city to exercise powers under Connecticut General Statutes Chapter 114 for five years; no members of the public spoke at the hearing. The meeting also included appointments, local payments, an update on the plan of conservation and development and the selection of a new public works director.
