Mayor (Mayor Wu) called the meeting to order and asked the clerk (Steve) to call roll; all councilmembers answered present. The mayor announced the newly promoted Captain Timmons would lead the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Villa Park City Council on Jan. 27, 2026 approved routine items including adoption of updated state building codes and audit reports, awarded a pavement-management contract, and approved a hauling agreement for the Mayberry 22 housing project after extended debate about truck routes, community impacts and intercity coordination with the City of Orange. Council also voted to change the city's representative on the Orange County Mosquito and Vector Control board, a decision that drew a 4-1 split.
