St. Petersburg City Council met Feb. 5, 2026. The council approved a nonbinding resolution (H‑2A) calling for a “plan‑first” approach to the Historic Gas Plant District before selecting or advancing a developer; the measure passed 6–2. The meeting also included a lengthy FDOT project update and numerous public comments urging the city to end its 287(g) agreement with ICE.
