Mayor (self-identified in proclamation later) called the regular Jan. 20, 2026 Town Council meeting to order, led the pledge of allegiance and read a land acknowledgement noting the Mountain Shoshone and other tribes and Jackson’s commitment to continued engagement with indigenous peoples.
Jackson Town Council on Jan. 20, 2026 took multiple actions on housing and major capital projects: it directed staff to propose splitting a $10 million commitment for the 90 Virginian Lane housing project 50/50 with Teton County and approved using restricted and assigned town housing funds for the town’s share; the council approved release of an RFP for a public sustainability-plan dashboard; it approved an annexation petition from the U.S. Forest Service; and it approved the development plan and conditional-use permit for a new Teton County Justice Center.
