The Puerto Rico House of Representatives held a public hearing on Feb. 10, 2026 to begin an investigation ordered by “resolución de la cámara 4 38” into a proposed channelization project on the Río Piedras; community representatives warned the project could harm older residents and local ecology and urged the Department of Natural Resources to produce historic project records.
