Jessie Weiss, interim executive director of Vermont Legal Aid, told the Senate Appropriations committee on Feb. 11 that the governor's budget proposes eliminating the state appropriation that funds the Medicare Advocacy Project (MAP), and she urged restoring funding to avoid staff cuts and loss of services including MAP, the statewide helpline, and a new immigrant minor guardianship program.
