Meeting called to order for the Reno City Council on 02/11/2026; the pledge of allegiance was led by Robeson (Truckee River Flood Management Authority) and the clerk called roll; several council members absent at the start but a quorum was established by SEG 027. Vice Mayor presided.
The Reno City Council met Feb. 11, 2026. Public comment focused heavily on the fatal February 3 welfare-check shooting of Michael Johnson Jr. Council received major presentations on regional water planning (TMWA), Truckee Meadows flood projects, an update on the region's Hexagon 9-1-1 dispatch implementation, and adopted the City's Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Council voted to approve rezoning and several ordinances and advanced a proposal to raise the city's sanitation franchise fee (from 8% toward 14%); it also approved limited outside labor negotiation support and directed the city attorney to file an amicus brief in a criminal discovery dispute.
