Mayor Mia Holbrook called the meeting to order in the Lake Placid government center and asked the clerk to call the roll; council members Worley, Eberhardt, Hayes and Charles, and Mayor Holbrook were recorded present.
Lake Placid Town Council met Feb. 9, 2026. Council heard public comment including announcements about additional wastewater grant funding, heard proposals from the Boys & Girls Club and the Highlands County Family YMCA for after‑school services, and conducted a contentious selection process that resulted in accepting longtime town attorney Bert Harris’s resignation and appointing Michael Durham (Clifford R. Rhodes firm) as interim town attorney.
