Rutherford County Board of Commissioners met Aug. 15, 2024, to approve routine business, recognize local groups, hear two rezoning public hearings and debate a contested transfer-station waste contract that led to an executive session and a vote to ask the purchasing committee to reconsider. The board also ratified a county school facilities tax under the County Powers Relief Act.
