Presiding officer called the meeting to order and led ceremonial opening: presentation of colors, the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags (led by Commissioner Justin West) and an invocation that recognized the work of licensed peace officers and memorialized officers who died in the last 14 months.
The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement held a regular meeting on Feb. 12, 2026 in Austin at the Pickle Center; commissioners received staff reports on hiring, pay-status and records projects, considered multiple proposed rule changes to implement House Bill 33 and other legislation, advanced advisory committee work on motor vehicle stop data, enrolled new names in the Peace Officers Memorial, and heard several disciplinary matters including a summary-suspension hearing.
