At its Oct. 15, 2024 meeting, Murrysville council heard public comments pressing the borough to rescind three subsurface (fracking) leases affecting Duff and Kovalchick parks; after solicitor advice that rescinding could breach contracts and create municipal liability, council voted unanimously to deny the petition. Council also adopted routine items including an ordinance accepting Hillstone Village streets and authorized release of developer funds.
