Chair called the meeting to order, welcomed attendees in Denver and led into the CPW honor guard’s presentation of the Pledge of Allegiance (honor guard led by CPW staff).
The Colorado Parks and Wildlife (Parks and Wildlife Commission) held a public commission meeting in Denver on Jan. 14, 2026. Commissioners heard updates on staffing and governance (director search), state and federal policy items (budget, rivers/forestry, WOTUS), grant programs and funding (GOCO, Outdoor Equity Grant Program, Habitat Stamp RFP), a wide-ranging beaver conservation and management strategy, and park updates including Chatfield storage reallocation. Several formal votes were taken (approval of minutes, Species Conservation Trust Fund, a settlement approved in executive session).
