Charlotte County commissioners on July 24 reviewed the tentative FY2026 budget, heard constitutional officers' budget presentations, set tentative millage rates unchanged for the coming year and approved staffing placeholders and equipment requests while directing staff to return with options to lower millage. The board also moved the September budget hearings to the Charlotte Harbor Event and Conference Center.
