House Judiciary Committee met Feb. 13 to consider an amendment (version 3.1) to H.578 that clarifies veterinarian involvement in animal-seizure warrants and to hear testimony on pretrial supervision and related pilot programs. The committee approved reporting H.578 favorably with the amendment and heard extended testimony about why the pretrial supervision pilot enrolled very few people despite roughly $1.5 million in committed funds.
