The New Mexico House Appropriations and Finance Committee (HAFC) met to consider committee substitutes and amendments for multiple House bills, including a substitute amending distance/virtual learning funding and reporting (HB253), a voluntary industrial decarbonization package (HB153 HAFC substitute), and a public-safety workforce consolidation bill (HB255). Committee members discussed financial impacts, reporting requirements, program oversight and temporary provisions; all three items received committee action (two due-pass recommendations and one HAFC substitute adoption).
