Chair called the Finance Committee to order, conducted roll call of council members (Kaneko, Carter, Cartier, Durham, George, Hollins, Kilpatrick, Sheldon, Street, Tacken, Toole, Council President Johns were recorded present). The committee approved the Jan. 13, 2026 minutes by voice vote.
At its Jan. 27, 2026 Finance Committee meeting, members debated a resolution apologizing to the public and restoring decorum, reviewed several ordinances and grants including a $100,000 federal pass-through SAMHSA grant and a $3,000 grant to the Police Athletic League of Wilmington (approved), discussed the council's FY2027 budget submission, and heard a councilmember complaint about school transportation service failures by Colonial School District.
