Chair Dante Anderson opened the meeting, apologized for technical difficulties, identified himself as chair of the Public Safety Committee and asked his two colleagues to introduce themselves (Dimple Ajmera and Ed Driggs). He said the purpose is a PVH stakeholder input session and that about 25 people had registered to speak.
Charlotte Public Safety Committee held a virtual PVH (passenger vehicle-for-hire) stakeholder input session where roughly 25 drivers and small-business operators testified about proposed changes to the city's passenger vehicle-for-hire ordinance, raising concerns about vehicle age limits, drug-testing requirements, payment rules and enforcement. Committee chair Dante Anderson said the discussion will continue at the committee's March 5 meeting.
