The Alaska Senate Education Committee heard an update from the Department of Education and Early Development and Mount Edgecumbe High School leaders about a roughly $1.6 million budget shortfall, recent contractor changes (NANA Management), student enrollment losses and extensive facilities and dormitory problems; students testified and lawmakers pressed the department on oversight and next steps.
