Chair Allison Hepler opened the meeting, welcomed members and guests and called for self-introductions. Representatives and senators introduced themselves and the towns or districts they represent (Representative Irene Gifford, Rep. Morgan Riley, Rep. Tiffany Stroud, Rep. Jim Thorne, Rep. Abden Simmons, Sen. Mary Ann Moore, Rep. Peter Wood, Rep. Wayne Farren and others).
The Maine House Committee on Marine Resources met in Augusta for presentations and work sessions on the Blue Economy Task Force report, LD 2025 (aquaculture lease and nursery/husbandry proposals and inspection authority), LD 2002 (Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative reauthorization and related votes), LD 2013 (emergency authority to protect endangered marine mammals), LD 2031 (veteran commercial shellfish fee discount), and several language reviews and budget carryovers.
