Mayor (presiding) called the meeting to order, clerk performed roll call (Councilman Boggi, Councilman Walker, Mayor Wheaton, Vice Mayor Eldridge, Councilman Gilbert present) and Pastor Andy Brewster of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ gave the invocation and led the pledge.
Cookeville City Council met Feb. 19, 2026. Council heard an annual annexation progress report detailing sewer/extensions across 12 annexation areas, approved several routine purchases and contract actions, voted to abandon a 2018 TDOT multimodal sidewalks grant for West 12th Street, advanced an ordinance to exempt two public venues from a special-events alcohol permit, amended the FY26 budget, authorized rebidding a single mineral-aggregate bid, approved water-plant change order and contract amendment for standby power, and accepted the city’s six‑month financial report.
