The LaPorte County Solid Waste District Board met in a Feb. 18 special meeting, approved a $365,000 contract with Homer Tree Service to clean up the compost site, authorized staff to seek financing, approved temporary changes to drop-off rules for large stumps, and set a hiring process after Director Clay Turner announced his retirement effective April 3.
