The City of Venice Planning Commission met Feb. 17, 2026, and approved site plans for a mixed-use building at Venice Isle and a Panda Express location, and recommended annexation, a future land use map amendment and a rezoning (PUD) for a 10.12-acre residential project (Chalets/Shelley’s at Venice). The rezoning passed 5–1 after public concern about density, traffic and drainage around Blackburn Canal.
