Independence City Council convened a virtual meeting Dec. 15, 2025 to address a morning power failure at the Courtney Bend water treatment plant that triggered a precautionary boil-water advisory, hear public comment on proposed industrial projects including a data center and power plant and to consider multiple zoning, licensing and redevelopment measures including the large Wally's redevelopment/TIF package, which the council approved.
