House Committee on Revenue held an informational briefing on federal tax changes and a lengthy public hearing on House Bill 4148, which would let local governments shift the minimum share of transient lodging (TLT) revenues reserved for tourism promotion from 70% down to 40% and allow up to 60% for local services. Dozens of local officials, DMOs, hoteliers and public-safety leaders testified for and against the bill; no vote was taken.
