Iberia Parish Council met Aug. 27, 2025, in New Iberia for routine business, heard presentations from the Aviation Academy of Louisiana and the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources about Jefferson Island storage permits, reviewed numerous zoning and planning items, and debated (then removed) a proposed local moratorium on carbon capture infrastructure.
