Smithsburg Town Council met Feb. 3, 2026. Council amended the agenda for a later RFP discussion, approved minutes and finance reports, reviewed a multilateral discussion of accounting practices and an FY25 audit true-up that showed water owes the general fund about $400,000 and sewer about $21,000, approved a town commitment letter for a stormwater tree-planting grant project, introduced changes to the snow-emergency parking ordinance, approved a community event fee waiver for “Smithsburg Goes Purple,” and heard public comment about disputed high water bills and AMI/metering upgrades.
