The Lorain zoning board of appeals and related planning bodies met Wednesday, Feb. 7 to hear multiple land-use requests: a contested variance request for a proposed gas station at 2217 E. 42nd St. was denied; an appeal of a denied certificate of occupancy at 912 W. 9th was held for more information and guidance to pursue a use variance; several sign variances and a school maintenance-shed variance were approved.
