A special public hearing of the Pittsburgh School Board on Dec. 16, 2025 heard more than a dozen public testimonies for and against the 3 Rivers Wildflower Montessori charter application; proponents emphasized access and fidelity to Montessori methods while opponents raised concerns about special-education funding diversion and district culture. The board did not vote and said it will review the full application before deciding.
